Let me introduce myself. I am Elena Malec, 60 years young this year, I love drawing since a small kid, I picked up the pencils again in 2008 and I think you can also enjoy the beauty of art made with your own hands. Just give it a try.

Hi, I'm Laura. I've been drawing and painting for many years but have found that one of our great tools: the digital camera, has seriously eroded my eye-to-hand skills. I've recently started working on botanicals from life to help get those skills back but have a feeling still lifes are going to be a needed break from time to time. You have to work so F-a-s-t! when you're working with a live flower!

I love watercolor but just a pencil, eraser and piece of paper can be so freeing. I do work in color pencil as well as graphite. Sometimes I realize I've picked up the watercolor pencils instead of the prismacolors! That can be fun.

Welcome, Laura. I hope we will be busy here with simple and not so simple drawings, doing challenges, I love those, and just learning the ropes of graphite, and other fun pencils.

I like challenges too but haven't been able to participate in many in the last couple of years. Real life sure has been throwing some fast balls. Busy is good. I love seeing what others are working on and sharing tips and techniques.
